Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold . The mythological Phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. My Phoenix is flawed in its resurrection, its central body repaired with wire made of gold.
