Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold. The mythological Phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. My Phoenix is flawed in its resurrection, its central body repaired with wire made of gold.
